Recieved a fake work from home job offer from a woman named Maria Farneth claiming to be from a company named Consol Energy. Real company, fake job offer. Long story short, after becoming suspicious, I read a few articles on work from home job scams that wont ask you for money upfront but will try to get you to cash fake checks & send them money. The bank eventually finds out its a phony, now you owe that money back. I concluded that this was one of them. I told "Maria" I was no longer interested, she still tried mailing the phony checks to the address I gave her, further confirming my suspicions.

This is the email I recieved, which also included 5 other email addresses the scammer apparently sent this email too also.

Hello! your resume has been reviewed due to the Job Ad you responded to online and the Human Resources of the company has decided to give you a chance to proceed to the next employment process, you have been considered and scheduled for an online interview to discuss more about the position offered. You are required to set up a Gmail account (www.gmail.com) then download the app from you app store i.e for smart phone and for PC you can download one from the Gmail webpage www.google.com/hangouts to download the app.

After this process, you are to add Mrs Maria farneth Now on Google hangout for Gmail is ([email protected]) for the job briefing and comprehensive details.She would be online waiting to talk to you ASAP. If you have any problem in setting up the Google hangout ([email protected])
