I called a customer service phone number I googled online that I thought was for gmail support. The representative asked permission to take control of my computer, which I reluctantly accepted. He began downloading some kind of software. Who knows what information of mine he was able to obtain during our brief call before I realized I had been duped into giving a complete stranger access to my all the files on my computer. So scary. Now I just cross my fingers and hope my SSN was not found during the file transferral he was attempting.
