I am a singer/consultant/voice over seeking work. I am use to getting paid via checks, cash, paypal, venmo, zelle, money orders, and cashapp. I applied to a job vacancy on Friday, May 19th that was posted on www.indeed.com that reads" Need a voiceover person to record VO script, $900 per project, 2 weekly projects , part-time, script 500-800 words long, 5-7 scripts per week, youtube channels, cars, fashion and etc." I received a text on Saturday May 27, 2023 at 8:32 am from the following number 1(909)663-9021, that read "Hello ******* *******, Congratulations to you on your new job, kindly save the date, time and venue for which recording will take place. Venue: 9910 Martin Avenue Glenn Dale Maryland 20769 Date: June 29th & June 30th 2023 Time: 10am to 12 pm from Shawn Montgomery ([email protected]) As earlier discussed , payment will be mailed out to you by our sponsor and awaiting confirmation from you via check made payable to you. Kindly deduct your initial payment of $500 to guarantee your participation in this project, and then send the remaining balance to the consultant engineer who will take care of all technical aspects of the job and studio rental with other planning. Your remaining balance of $400 will be given to you on the final day of the recording. I look forward to your email. Kindly reconfirm the details below for payment. Send me your full name as should appear on check: Complete mailing address including apt# very important, if any(No P O Box) and cell phone number. I received the mail around 9:30 am on June 06, 2023 Priority Mail Express Flat rate envelope USPS Priority Mail TRACKING Number # 9405 8112 0230 9921 2765 66 which contained a check payable to me (the job seeker) in the amount of $2,550.00 with the following company heading: Corman & Associates Inc. 881 Floyd Drive Lexington, KY 40505-3615, Check Number 8820, on the following bank: Central Bank & Trust Co. Lexington, KY 40507 dated May 29, 2023 Bank Routing Number: 000008820 042100146 10634058. I deposited the check into my savings account at my bank (Navy Federal Credit Union )on June 06, 2023 and waited for bank notification of check clearing. Cash App request started immediately from staff/team workers from Donna F, Tay, David Gunsolley, Ryan Gomez, and Zae AAA and or around June 6, 7, 8, and 9th 2023. On Friday June 09, my saving balance read $2,082.34 but then minutes later it read negative $00.00 in my personal saving account with my own bank. I immediately panicked and rushed to Woodmore Shopping Center in Lanham, Maryland to go inside (in-person) to ask for help(assistance) because I seriously did not know what just took place and I needed HELP! The clerk explained to me that I had just been "SCAMMED". I know owe my own bank savings account $1,050.00. My account is now zero $0. I do not have a job. I am a senior citizen age 69. I live on a fixed income. I have been a Indie artist, freelancer, consultant, singer, and voice over for the past three years. As upset as I was, I proceeded to contact the employer: Shawn Montgomery on 1(909)663-9021 repeatedly asking for them to return the money so that I would not be in trouble. As you know, Shawn Montgomery never answered any of my text messages or phone calls. As you know, the names and company names and bank names are at most, FAKE! I need help. I have save my text messages and email correspondence. I just learned how to screen shot stuff but I am not too tech savvy.
