I met with a local contractor to work on a deck extension project in my backyard. I needed it done in a rush and Codey Jiles Schmidt had an ad on Facebook marketplace for deck building. He showed up, measured, knew his terminology and lumber industry. Said he’d leave right then to purchase lumber and just needed the money for the boards to get started. He recommended CashApp (which I had never used before), but said that worked great because he’d get the money instantly and could get to work that day. I transferred $1500 over. That night he was to return but said he was dealing with a flat tire on the expressway. 2 days later I got him on the phone again and had an additional part of deck for him to work on, he ran over and quoted more lumber for the job. Said his truck was coming back that day and I transferred him another $2500 on cash app. I have all receipts and digital proof including messages from him that he’d received the $4000 total. After that he has disappeared.

I have all information on him, including address and digital tracking on all funds and him admitting that he had the money.
