Type of a scam Online Purchase
The URL area on the website include a "lock" icon indicating that it was safe. On August 3, 2023, I added the pillow to my cart, entered my credit card info to buy the item, and entered a shipping address and telephone number in Brooklyn, NY.
My order number was 23980.
I did not receive any order acknowledgement to my email, even after several days.
The only other uses of my credit card around that time was for products from Amazon and AliExpress (from my computer, not the mobile app). I received confirmation for ordering the items from Amazon and AliExpress, but not the pillow from coreproducts (or "corecproducts").
I tried calling the phone number on the coreproducts.shop Contact Us page, but it was not connected. On Friday, Aug. 11, I sent an email to [email protected] asking to know the status of my order. Maybe that was a mistake because it brought my order to someone's attention. On Monday, Aug. 14, four purchases were made using my credit card. My bank statement identifies these purchases as: "MOBILE - aliexpress San Mateo /CA". Fortunately, for some reason, my bank flagged these purchases as suspicious, and emailed me asking if I made those purchases. I replied that I did not. My bank reimbursed me for those purchases because I never gave anyone authorization to use my credit card, I never used the aliexpress mobile app, and I never even had the aliexpress mobile app installed on my phone.
I had to cancel my credit card because it was compromised.
It has been 2 months, and the pillow hasn't come. Also, my credit card was not debited for the cost. I see the coreproducts.shop site it still up, and they are still advertising the pillow for sale. I believe it is a scam to get credit card information from unsuspecting buyers.
I would be glad to provide any information you need to protect other potential victims.
