I have an elderly friend in financial distress that received a facebook message from an old friend "******** *******", advising her of a grant program in which she can obtain 80K for sending $500. She was provided a facebook link to "agent" "Kathee L Allen" https: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100060005647161, and told to send her a friend request. She was also advised to text 740-402-8741, which she did this individual communicated information about the "program" and asked her to send images of their drivers licenses for identification verification, which unfortunately she did before talking to me about it.

apparently at least 2-3 other "friends" have reached out to her via facebook or even phone call to advise her they had received monies. I suspect these were imposters as well.

The program was indicated to be "Corporation of National Community Service"- which does not appear legit based on my research and she was advised to communicate via text to 740-402-8741- unfortunately she had already provided images of their drivers licenses before I intervened. The ******** ******* facebook profile that communicated with her appears to be fraudulent as does the facebook page for the "Agent", "Kathee L. Allen"

Contacted by two older friends on FB. BOTH inquired if I've heard of CNCS. NO, I replied. Both told me of monies they have received as a grant one $50,000, the other $85000, all free and not a loan. Both said no, not a scam but legit -- to contact a link on FB, Tell Agent William's Paul that a friend had told me of the service they provide to older citizens to help pay various debts. I gave the agent some personal info. He checked and I qualified for the winning grant money. To close the deal, send $500 for $50000 inactive federal grant, a clearance fee. This made me suspicious. $500 fee for $50000? Too good to not be a scam. To date, I have not sent the fee, asking to send the $50000 first, then I would sent the $500. Nope, send $500 to them first. I think I'll have to pass. Sure, I'd love to exchange a few dollars for thousands, but I dont think I'll ever see the thousands for my hard earned money. Sad, but I also dont want to be an old [censored] who knew better. End.

I got an IM from Agent Carol Anderson who works with the United nations government agency. She asked if I was here for the CNCS government grant. She said it is free money that I am entitled to to help me get through tough economic conditions. She said I could use the grant for personal use. She said in 2018 the government authorized billions in grants. She said there is no limit to the number of grants I could apply for. I wouldn't need a co-signer and I never have to pay it back. The aim is to eradicate poverty and make the world a better place. I would have to fill out a form for security reasons. She gave me a list of prizes, like if I pay $1500 I would get $150,000, or $2500 would get me $390,000. The list goes to $590,000. She says if I would pay her $10,000 I could get $3 million. She says this is not a scam, believe me, she doesn't want me to miss out on this privilege because she knows how useful the cash would be to my family. She says she is a woman of God, and the word of God says many sorrows are to the wicked and you will give a testimony by the time you get this grant. The grant is based on an electronic selection. The program is sponsored by multi-national companies as part of their social responsibility. For security reasons I am advised to keep my winnings confidential as it is against their policy. She said my name has been forwarded to FedEx to deliver it to me. She says there is a little fee attached to it by FedEx. I am required to pay a delivery fee. Once done, you will get $100,000 delivered by FedEx department. We guarantee the grant money will be delivered within 6 hours after payment of $1000. No one has to make the payment upfront. Then asks if I am ready to make the payment now. She goes on to say once I have the money she will explain how to make the payments and wishes me a blessed day.

Received message through facebook that this agency would give me $90,000 through a promotional program; not a loan. The man had the same last name as mine so I fell for it. Told to pay $1,500 for taxes. I bought the money order and mailed to Texas- Pedro Lucero, **** ***** ***., El Paso, TX 79907. I received texts from Phyllis Weaver. She instructed me to require a signature so it cost $60 to send the money order. Phyllis said the money was on its way by FedEx but we needed to send $4,000 for taxes. Communication was through texts.

We have notified facebook and changed our password.

A friend introduced me to the program. She stated that CNCS “is a new program for helping old, retired and non retired with cash for paying bills, buying homes.” She indicated that she had received money.

After keying in the website information I received a message from the agent requesting I fill out a form with personal information. When I asked for the name of his organization and supervisor - he stated “Please am very busy, I still got some other things to do, there are people I need to attend to, if you still want the grant then let’s proceed”

I told him that he should be ashamed of himself and that I was going to report him and the friend for passing on the information. He stopped communicating with me but the friend continue to try to encourage me to give him the information he requested. She said “He’s a government official so you got to trust him. Can government scam you. They give what is necessary to the citizens. Not to collect from them so you have to calm down and do what he want”

After a few more back and forth comments I ended by letting her know that I would report the whole scam.

I got the same text from a “friend” that I’d known for a long time. She told me about the money she got and asked if I had been contacted. I said no. She gave me a link for a Martin Moris of the CNCS. I contacted him while my friend waited. I was curious as to why she pushed me so hard to make this contact right now so she could guide me through the process. Her insistence was unusual for the elderly lady that she is. So I contacted Martins Moris. I got an answer right away (and questions from my friend). He asked my name to see if I was still on the list. As I waited, my friend parroted each action with the encouragement to give him the info. I was sent a form. Unable to fill the form as it was sent as a picture file, Moris told me just to type in the info on-line as tho I was filling in the form. I did so, and submitted the info. He said he would verify my info and see if I got the money. Of course I qualified. He then asked me if I were ready to choose how much I wanted. He told me to be careful to choose what I could afford. A little confused, I asked my friend about it. (She was still following me step by step) I received a page of amounts of the grant and the amount I had to pay upfront, hence the amount I could afford. Note that the amounts listed from $5500 to $500000 were on a letterhead in color from the CNCS. Looked good so I chose to receive $200000 for a fee of $3100. I’ve never seen a contest where you can pick the amount you want. So I sent that to Moris. He then wanted me to pay right now. I told him that I couldn’t pay immediately (I deliberately chose to stall him here) and that I needed to go to the bank. This was Saturday evening, so no banks. He gave me several ways to pay: debit card, credit card, cash. He was pushing for the money right then, and curiously, so was my friend (don’t you trust me, don’t miss this opportunity)
Anyway, Moris wanted something to place me on the database until Monday. I told him I had $200 in cash. He told me to go purchase an American Express gift card for the $200, take a picture and send to him. Meanwhile as planned, I had time to google this SCAM and report it. Moris is still waiting and my friend is bugging me why I’m not sending it.
Some friend ! Really, I recognized it was not like her at all. She will be surprised when I tell her about this.

can claim money by the government. Showed me a list with my name on it stating I would receive $100,000 dollars. He uses the #903-732-6746 texting and then he did call me but I did not make it to the phone in time to pick up. He left no message.

She responded by saying, “ well, I got 200,000.00 in cash from them...there is no need for qualification and it’s not a loan. She sent me this link..https://www.facebook.com/David-smith-111238737294695. I texted back and forth for a couple of hours with KAREN and DAVID SMITH last evening with both trying to encourage me to commit to an amount and cash app to $loiswheaton...I insisted to both of them that I’d been burned on cash app so I would rather use PayPal....Mr Smith kept telling me how real and legitimate this money was and when I asked what I would be expected to do, I was told I could use the money for anything I wanted. I finally asked my friend, “WHAT CHURCH DO YOU ATTEND?” and instead of telling me, this fraud said “you know that answer”. In the beginning Mr Smith asked for my full name, address, phone number, birthdate and email which unfortunately I gave him..I gave no SS number or bank info...LAST NIGHT I TOLD THEM BOTH I NEEDED TO THINK ABOUT IT OVERNIGHT AND WOULD CONTACT THEM AT 9am today. At exactly 9am Mr. Smith texted me and asked if I was ready to submit my $1000.00. I did as much research I could find and my feeling that it was a scam was verified...Mr. Smith is still waiting for my response...I have all of the texts from both Karen and Mr. Smith and would be happy to share with BBB. THIS IS TRULY SCARY AND IM SURE THEY HAVE DECEIVED OTHERS AND GOTTEN THE $$through cash app!!! Sad!

A person claiming to be an old friend messaged me on Facebook that he had received $150,000 from The Corporation for National and Community Service (an actual organization) and that I should apply to Agent Robert Michael for similar money. I clicked on the link, and “Agent Michael” asked me to send him my full name. I replied and then he asked me for my house address, age, gender, text number, occupation, monthly income and did I own or rent my apartment. I did not answer these questions and replied that I would get back to him at a later date. I then emailed my friend to tell him of the situation and that in all probability his Facebook account had been hacked. Since then, “Agent Michael” messaged me, but I blocked him.

I reported it to FB, blocked the clone on FB and my cell. I am reporting it to ScamPulse.com and will report it to NY's State Attorney. I am, USUALLY, more astute than this, but this was from a woman that I trusted. So, yes, I win the [censored] of the day award.
