Did your health insurance rate increase for 2024? Would you like a quick quote via text?
Then some texts went back and forth and a meeting was set up to talk to an insurance agent, Matthew.
Matthew called at the agreed upon time and told me about some insurance options. He had a very personable way of talking and sounded local. He asked some basic questions. I realized too late that he was asking strange questions that I shouldn’t have answered.
He sent me an email confirming a no deductible insurance plan. The website was awful but I have also seen terrible yet legit insurance websites. The email account he forwarded me the automated health insurance info from came from a sham address.
