This happened on September 7th. I completed the customer questionnaire, which I thought was from UPS, and chose a free gift. I just had to pay shipping. The "free" gift was a roomba vacum. When I received this in the mail, it was a piece of plastic with a motor in it. It was pretty ridiculous, so I threw it in the garbage, thinking at least I only lost 9.95. next thing i know i got debited out of my account $157.95. The information appears on my account as follows:
DEBIT CARD PURCHASE AT STYLISHTECHBOUTIQUE, 833-5622239, NM ON 092423 FROM CARD#:XXXXXXXXXXXX4123. TRANSACTION TYPE: DEBIT, CATAGORY: PERSONAL CARE, TRANSACTION DATE: SEPTEMBER 24, 2023 POST DATE SEPTEMBER 25,2023.
I called several times to the customer service number listed 833-562-2239 4 times. the first time no supervisor called back. By the third time, I figured out the scheme that was used to essentially rob me.
They told me it was my fault because there was another product review that i should have done within 2 weeks of receiving this fake roomba in the mail, and because I didn't do it, I got charged the full price. i told them I was going to call my bank, and all of a sudden the transaction went through, and they told me my bank would charge me for nonpayment. The 4th and last time I called, they offered me a 25% return, and I would be surprised if I got that.
so please look into this. I'm going to go to the UPS store myself and let them know this is happening. I've done this with HomeDepot before, and I've never had a problem, and I felt like I got tricked with the email saying it was affiliated with UPS.
