County Records Office LLC Reports & Reviews (13)

These people are trying to scam me for 89 dollars

I received a letter from County Records requesting I send $89.00 for a recorded deed? In the letter it indicated that there was a recent deed transfer which is not true.

I received a letter from the above organization requesting a payment of $89 to record a property deed of my recent home purchase.

I researched online a saw people have numerous complaints about being scammed.

Recently received a letter from County Records Office, LLC requesting that I send $89 to gain a copy of the deed for property just acquired. They are impersonating a governmental office. Real estate agent said this was a scam as the title has not even been filed yet!! He said has reported this company several times but Florida not doing anything to shut this scam business down. Shame on Florida. The paperwork looks very legit! They are using public info to look professional. Glad they didn’t get our $89 but hope others stay away too! Just by putting a note saying one does not need to accept the offer is not right.

"Local county" (but not the county it was mailed from) Records indicate that you have a recent deed transfer for a property at... To obtain a copy of your recorded deed, please detach the bottom portion and return with an $89 check.

It implies that a change has been made, and you have to send in money to get a copy of the document. Luckily I noticed it was sent from Tampa, Florida, which is half a state away from where I am in Northwest Florida. As a Real Estate agent, I understand that another county has no jurisdiction or any business with my county, but I could see where this would frighten someone into sending in the money.

Notice and envelopes appear "official". Concerned elderly and those without internet knowledge/access would be fooled by this.

I received a letter from what seemed to be the county records office. If I wanted the deed to my house, I could pay $89.00 to get it. I thought I would be receiving the deed, as stated in the original letter to me. Instead, I got a copy of the deed and realized I had been scammed. I tried to call the phone number but there is no answer.

I did a search on The Better Business Bureau and discovered there are multiple fraud complaints against this person.

I want my money back. I am out of work and sheltering at home because of COVID. This is terrible.

County Records Office mailed a document via US mail that appears to be from the county property records department in which my real property is recorded. The document states that Saint Lucie County Records indicates that a recent deed transfer has occurred for my property. The letter further states the deed has been recorded in Official Records and identifies me as the new property owner. The letter contains my property ID, document record number, subdivision, property use, assessed value and date of deed transfer. Below that information is a statement that upon receipt of a 89$ service fee I will get a copy of my deed, property profile and tax assessment. This letter makes one truly believe I need to send 89$ to County Records.

Upon reading this unofficial document twice I realized it was fake and I was being asked to send 89$ to Official Records for documents I did not need. Documents I can get from St. Lucie County Property Tax Department. This is very very misleading and seems to be illegitimate. I would attach a copy but it has my personal information in it.

This company sends invoices masquerading as a government office requesting a response by a certain date and making the unsolicited ad look like a bill. Very shady business practice.

- Gainesville, FL, USA

Please see the attached document they mailed me. The scam is they make it sound like an important document has been filed with the County Records office that you need to get, and they charge $89 to get it. It's totally bogus. What they're really offering me is a copy of my own home deed filed by my real estate lawyer more than a year ago. I'm sure they succeed in exploiting the elderly and good people who are trusting.

We recently had a transfer of deed and we received this in the mail. At first glance, it looks like we owe $89.00 to Escambia County Records for a copy of our deed. Many people could easily assume this document is official and submit a check or money order.

This letter was sent to my aunt. It had the appearance of a bill, and stated that by paying $89.00, she would receive a copy of her recorded deed.

- Brooksville, FL, USA

I received a letter from them asking for $89.00 for a copy of a current deed that was recorded in 2016. It's a scam!
