Received a priority mail letter with check for $1950. Instructions were unprofessional and no online link. Unrealistic compensation for a Secret Shopper survey, So they want me to deposit the 'check' , rush to the store, buy the cards and then send them pictures of every detail of the cards so the scammers can use the cards to purchase merchandise? Meanwhile back at my bank the check bounces and I'm are out $1950. I don't have that kind of cushion. It would be an enormous hardship. Quite brilliant except getting paid $450 to go buy some debit cards is preposterous in this economy. I am reporting the bogus check to the credit union.

I received a text message asking if I would be interested in being a secret store evaluator for Whole Foods. I said yes because they were going to compensate me for the work. I applied and was selected to do the evaluation. Several days later I received a US Priority Mail letter and check for $1,950. The money was to be used as follows: $450 for my work and $1,500 to buy Visa Vanilla gift cards. After buying the cards I was supposed to 1)scratch off the back of the card and 2)take a picture of the front and back of the card, and 3)take a picture of the receipt. Then they wanted a little info, like the store names and addresses where the purchases were made plus the time and date and name of the cashier if possible, and if the cashier says thank you and how long it took to get checked out, and how the staff was generally. But, this is a scam. I didn't deposit the check or purchase the gift cards and have blocked them. I will be calling my local non-emergency police number tomorrow to report it. If it seems too good to be real, it probably is.

Was contacted to be a Whole Foods Market store evaluator. I was sent a cashier's check during the weekend (when banks are closed) and instructed to purchase 3 Visa gift cards (to be used later for shopping). If I completed the task in 12 hours from the time I informed them I received the check I would receive a $250 bonus on top of the $450 I was receiving for this task. If I completed it in 24 hours I would receive a $150 bonus. All I had to do is purchase 3 Visa gift cards that total the amount of $1,500. The "cashier's check" was made out to me for the total of $1,950 and from a legitimate bank. After purchasing the gift cards I was to send a picture of the front and back of the cards as well as the receipts. I went to the bank to cash the cashier's check, a branch of the bank that supposedly issued the check, and the bank confirmed it is a fraudulant check. He said I should contact the police and report the scam/fraud, which I will be doing.

Scam letter and check same as the other posters.

I recieved a UPS package at my home and if I wasn't such a researcher I would have fallen for this SCAM!BEAWARE they are not real .. The letter congratulated me on my first assignment as Secret Surveyor which I did not sign up for and a $2950.00 check,
The money was to be used as follows: $450 for my work and $2,500 to buy Nike gift cards. After buying the cards I was supposed to scratch of the back of the card and take a picture of the front and back of the card. Needless to say this is a scam pure and simple and I did not deposit the check or purchase the gift cards. Beware of deals that seem too good to be true!BYE FELICIA! I'm proudly bringing my check to the BPD..

See pics. Received instructions and a cashier's check from The Bank of Hawaii for $2950 instructing me to buy Nike gift cards and keep the remaining $450. I reported them this fraud to the Bank of. Hawaii, the USPS, FBI, and Whole Foods. DO NOT fall for this. There is not information when you search for Covestel Enterprises, the address does not exist on USPS. I Googled the address on Google Maps and it just shows an intersection.
