On May 16, 2015 booked the Thanksgiving Package with Cowboy Sports Tours LLC via internet, and made $400 deposit on Visa Credit Card. Received email of Invoice# 242 from Cowboy Sports Tours LLC on May 16, 2015 listing my deposit and balance due. Continued to make payments by personal check from June 23 through September 28, 2015.
On August 22, 2015 booked airfare to Dallas, TX via Visa credit card.
On October 13, 2015 I received PAID IN FULL invoice# 242 via email from [email protected]
On November 23, 2015 I received the event itinerary for the Thanksgiving Package from Teresa Hall, email address of [email protected]
On the morning of November 24, 2015 I called Cowboy Sports Tours at 1-888-935-4155 to inquire about the Wednesday evening event info because it stated TBD. I spoke with Teresa Hall, who informed me that there were player cancellations for the dinner and they did not yet know who would be able to attend. She stated that the details would be announced on Wednesday upon our arrival at the hotel.
On November 24, 2015 at 3:35pm AZ Time, I received a call from Teresa Hall stating that all packages were being cancelled due to "financial difficulty", but that everyone would receive a full refund due to the last minute cancellation. I asked if my airfare would also be refunded since I would not have airfare if I had not booked this trip with Cowboy Sports Tours, to which she replied that they would be working on package refunds within 7 to 10 business days and then would review the possibility of refunding airfares as well. She advised me to email a copy of my airfare purchase to [email protected] so they have record of the amount needed to be refunded. I emailed the airfare receipt as instructed on the evening of November 24.
On December 1, 2015 at 10:21am AZ Time, I spoke with Teresa Hall again to inquire the status of my package and airfare refund. She advised that they had begun the process of the refunds, but could not guarantee my refund would be issued within the 10 business days. I asked if my refund would be processed as a return to my Visa credit card or as a check, and also inquired how they were determining who to refund in what order. Teresa stated that she was unsure, and mentioned that the owner and the accounting manager were currently in a meeting discussing finances. Teresa said she would call me back with those answers.
As of today, December 8, 2015, I have had no further replies from Cowboy Sports Tours and no refund.
I appreciate any assistance you can provide in ensuring that I, and all of the others who bought in to this fraudulent scheme be reimbursed, and that measures be taken to restrict this type of fraud happening to anyone else in the future.
