I contacted Cozy Air Duct Cleaning Service & Dryer Vent Cleaning after doing a google search for dryer vent cleaning companies. When I called them, they said it would cost me $99.00 to clean my dryer vent. I went ahead and scheduled them to come to clean my vents on 1/9/2023. Supposedly, there was a dead mouse at the base on the dryer (back side of the dryer) which was causing the dryer not to work. They charged me $499.00 to deep clean a vent which was about 14 inches long, $199.00 for sanitizing the vent; $179 to put a plastic cage (bird guard) at the outside of the vent so no future animals would get in; $229 to install a new metal piping (the flexible metal tubing that goes from the dryer to the outside vent (which is 7 ft. long) and $3.5 % of the total bill for using a credit card to pay ($45), for a total bill of $1,235.79. I paid this amount because I was desperate need of getting my dryer fixed. The dead mouse was found at the base of the tubing where the tubing connects to the back of the dryer, which he was able to easily remove. After he left, I contacted other Dryer Vent vendors, and I was told I was "taken." There is no such thing as sanitizing a vent dryer, a deep cleaning of a dryer vent with the brushes is $149.00 at the most, and the bird guard (plastic cage they installed) doesn't work, only traps lent and reduces air flow. I will be contacting my credit card company to have the amount disputed, but I wanted to file this complaint today. I will be also filing a complaint with the consumer protection agency.
