I was left a voicemail informing me that a formal complaint for bank fraud was being filed against me in my St. Louis County. They gave me a number to call back and when I did so, they told me to contact CP Investors, LLC to settle for an amount and to refer to a case number given. When I Google'd the company, I clicked the first listing which wasn't an official website but to a link that showed that this ScamPulse.com listing that has had numerous complaints already filed with them. When I called the 1st number, there ran an automated loop of an advertisement to sign up for Charter cable service. Then I called the 2nd number (a local Maryland listing) and there it rang until an answering machine came up with someone telling you to leave a message but with no identifying information of the company. The 3rd number I reached connected to another automated loop of a Caribbean Cruise. When I called the ORIGINAL number back (from the voicemail), I told them that I believed that what they were doing was very shady and that I would be reporting them to my local news outlet investigative teams to further inquire about their business. The woman on the line asked me if I had any information to help identify my case and then informed me that she was recording the call. I responded by telling her that I was recording the call as well, and she responded saying that I cannot do that. I replied by informing her citing Missouri's 1st-party Consent for Recording Law and she then terminated the call. Please do not give these people ANY of your information that would identify you or any financial service you use as this looking to be a classic case of phishing.
