Scammer called claiming to be a Senior Sargent (I have omitted his name) with CPSO. I asked for his badge number, which he gave, (I have omitted his badge #) stating my husband was served papers in August stating he would appear in court as an expert witness in October, yet failed to do so. He was to report to the CPSO to rectify the situation. I informed the scammer that papers had not been served and expert witnesses are hired by attorneys and not randomly called by the sheriffs office without prior preparation. Then I informed the scammer that I would reach out to a friend of mine who works in the court system to investigate further. The friend reached out to the Sargent, whose name and badge # were used by the scammer and they determined that it was indeed a scam and to block his number.

I beg the public to not fall victim to these people! Out fox the fox!
