I was initially contacted on February 10, 2018 by my niece, who had been contacted about an alleged debt and told if I did not respond immediately, a warrant would issued and I would have to appear in court and could be subject to arrest.

I contacted the caller at 888.653.7750 and a highly belligerent individual reiterated the threat of a warrant being served that evening (Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018). He stated I owed a $23,000 including interest and penalties) debt with Capitol One but I could settle for approximately $13,000.

I asked for documentation of the debt which was angrily refused. I hesitantly and against my better judgment due to the brutal intimidation and fear of jail agreed to pay the alleged debt

The company (allegedly CR Litigation) proceeded to take credit card and began to process a credit card transaction through PayPal

The company called the following Friday stating PayPal was too slow (payment to them would not allegedly be made untill March 3, 2018

wanted their money and PayPal would refund the money and they would take in another way

PayPal did refund the money but fearing the company might try to collect on the alleged debt twice, I froze and closed the credit card being used

I have since been inundated with a battery of phone calls and intimidating voice-mails

In the last several days they have been harassing family, friends and even my church

I have checked the internet and found many allegations of similar intimidation and attempted fraud associated with this phone number

The Company name cannot be found and the business address appears to a PO Box

IF true documentation were provided, I would consider paying the debt but absolutely no documentation has been provided

But I firmly believe this is a scam and an extreme attempt at fraud

I am tired of the harrassment
