I was looking for vehicles for sale on Craigslist. Spotted a nice red jeep. I contacted the person listed on Craigslist because it was a local address, phone number. When I contacted that individual, he stated that the jeep belong to his out-of-town aunt. She was supposedly in the military. This individual provided me with the email addresses of his aunt. I emailed her to express my interest in the Jeep. Her name was Patricia Infanti. She said in the email that she really had to sale the vehicle because it belonged to her daughter- who died from COVID-19. Having the vehicle parked in the yard reminded her too much of her daughter.

Since Patricia was in the military and on some base, EBay Motors would handle all transactions for her. They even sent me a very legitimate looking CARFAX REPORT. Sure enough, EBay Motors sent me numerous pictures of the vehicle, how to make payment transaction, etc. I was urged to use EBay Gift Cards in increments of $200.00 each. I purchased 6 of those and followed instructions as to how to transfer them. I was promised that once payments were received, the vehicle would be transported to my address within a few days. Needless to say, the Jeep never showed up. These suckers definitely got me ‘WHOLE HOOK LINE AND SINKER’.
