I bought a car off of Craigslist. The listing - https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/littleton-2005-jetta-mk5-25l/7736398337.html - said that the car was the person's mother-in-law's car and that she was going into the nursing home. When I agreed to meet the person to see the car, he said that he couldn't meet at his house because someone bought a truck from him and stole the truck the following night from his home. He said that he wanted to meet at Lilley Gulch Rec Center & Pool, 6147 S Holland Way, Littleton, CO 80123. When I countered and said that we should meet at the bank, he said that he couldn't drive (even though he drove the car to the rec center). I have these Craigslist correspondences saved in my e-mail. When I went to see the car (it didn't have plates) said that he just got the car from the mother-in-law, and his story sort of checked out even though the lady on the title was in her 60's (quite young to be in the nursing home). The car drove okay, and I went to the bank (Wells Fargo on West Bowles). Looking back the man was nervous, and would not go into the bank, and only wanted cash. I decided to buy the car, and he said that his wife could help me with the title if I had problems, he gave me a phone number - 720-737-7065. When I gave him the money, he refused to count it and almost ran out of the parking lot. As soon as I drove the car out of the lot, it started producing a major slippage in the transmission. I tried to call the man, but there was no answer (he never answered). Later I would learn that the car had broken motor mounts (Littleton garage quoted me 1200 in labor plus parts and tax, and I had a friend put shunts in to solve the problem temporarily), it also has a major transmission issue that has not gone away, a hastily installed front bumper, that fell off (straight out of the movie Matilda), and an airbag fault warning came on within days of driving the car. It also had corn and sesame seeds under the seats and in the window seals, which speaks to mice living in the car, and there are other electrical issues (emissions, locks don't work now). The oil change sticker had a 2022 date with current miles. I understand we are responsible for used car purchases, but this man intentionally sold a car that was most likely pulled from junk and added a bumper and a cosmetic repair using this fake mother-in-law story as a cover-up.

Put an add on Craigslist to sell my organ. Received email from a person named Henry Kane explaining he wanted to buy my organ. He would send a cashier check and then pick it up. I received a check (business) for several thousands more than what was offered and was told to give the extra to movers who would pick up the organ the next day. I wanted info regarding who to make the cashier check out for the mover but instead was asked to Zelle the movers money. I felt that Zelle was a safe form of payment so I agreed. I sent proof of payment to the buyer and asked when the organ would be picked up. Hours later I got an email saying family member died and he wanted the money back. I said that was not gonna happen as I think it was a scam for them to get the “movers” money. I told them I was contacting my lawyer and the better business burreau. I have not heard back from them.

I tried to sell my vehicle on Craigslist for $7K. I got a response from an email accoun that was listed as "Abdul" however the email was signed from a Monica Guerraro. The person asked if they could buy it & send payment via cashier's check. I agreed. They only asked for my name, address, phone number, and how much I'm selling it for. That's all I gave them. I have kept the email chains. I received a cashier's check on 11/3/21 for the amount of $10,950. The envelope return address is:

Baloian Packing Co Inc.

446 N. Blythe Ave

Fresno, CA 93706

The check was issued by:

Phan and Hussain Investments Inc DBA

Amigo Wash and Dry 5

1611 Park Garden CT

Cedar Hill, TX 75104

The 2 emails that are on this fraudulent email chain are: [email protected]

[email protected]

(Monica claimed she is the wife of Roy. And inquired about the Jeep on behalf of her husband. Then I got a follow up email from Roy about securing the purchase).
