i had a call last friday from a Melony Hernandez from "county DSD Division" regarding a signature required for certified legal documents paperwork and was given a "case number" and phone number at cranebrook 866-977-0705 and i was told a failure to appear would be issued in my name if I did not contact them regarding this "case" they used my old married name which I have not used in 20 years and "John" at Cranebrook and associates or Cranebrook professionals referenced an over 20 year old vehicle repossession and advised me that I could pay a settlement or be served with court papers. the statute in Kansas is 7 years for vehicle repossession I contacted the California state bar and there is no firm with this name and no attorney listed under this "firm" name. I contacted John on advisement of legal counsel to request a validation or letter of representation and he told me that since they are not a collection agency they do not have to provide any information and that i could (in so many words) tell it to the judge. two different legal reps told me that this is an obvious scam one attorney telling me to laugh and let them know that I would be waiting for service. "County DSD" called on a private number and gave no county name or court name. scammers using scare tactics and pretending to be lawyers so You will pay them, do not. contacting FTC and law enforcement as well
