This client, the attorney stated, was Mr. Alan (our last name), and he died in a “ghastly car accident” in Toronto nine years ago. None of Alan’s relatives has claimed the insurance policy’s $13,030,000 payout so the attorney contacted us “in view of the fact that you share the same last name and nationality with the deceased.”
“I solicit for your consent to partner with me for the claim of this policy benefit as the beneficiary of the claim,” he wrote.
