Job offer as Data Administration Representative work from home. Interviewed via messaging on Telegram. Used professional grammar. Answered multiple work related questions. Sent link to what seemed legit company website. Got my name ,number and email. Asked what bank I bank with which then I said I’m not comfortable answering this question to then they never replied and then they removed the ‘company logo’ from telegram ID. End of scam.

First, I received a text message to download Telegram to proceed with an interview by the hiring manager. After completed, I was informed I got the job. Then, the next day at 8am, I received an email to submit my personal information such as social security on a tax document, direct deposit information, and signatures for acknowledgment of company policies.

My intuition kept telling to me do more research and so I have stumbled upon similar stories.

I am not sure of the effects of submitting my personal information and what steps I can take to stop these scammers.
