I received an email stating my subscription has been renewed and I had been charged $367 today. I called and the scammer wanted me to login to my computer and he would walk me through canceling the subscription. I told him I did not have a computer, he sounded like he didn’t believe me.
Then he wanted my debit card numbers so he could process the refund without asking me any account verification info.
When I said, “this sounds scammy. I’m going to contact the bbb and just verify the company then I’ll call you right back. Can I please have your name?” **click** he disconnected.
The address in the email links to a very similar seemingly legitimate business address, but the real business is on an ave, not a drive.
This one nearly got me. If I had my laptop nearby, I think he would have been able to take advantage of me. Luckily, I made the phone call from my bathroom lol.
They certainly would have been able to take advantage of my parents if they had received the email. It was his tone when saying “you down own a laptop or a computer? Maybe one of your kids computer?” That even triggered me wondering if this was a legit business. I’m attaching a screenshot of the email and if the ScamPulse.com can’t eviscerate the scammers I will rest assured Karma will **** them up.
I bid you farewell,
