A neighborhood associate approched my husband saying that he knew somebody that worked at CSA who could help get our light bill paid. This person called someone on the phone who stated that they worked for CSA ( Community Service Agency) in Shelby County. I took the bait and spoke with the man on the phone and I asked what did I need to provide to qualify and how much would CSA be able to pay towards my bill. He said well let me see how much is the bill first. I will text you the links or what you need. I gave my cell which is the same number attached to my mlgw acciunt. He texted that ge needed my account number, name on the account, zip code, and phone number. Now keep in mind since he wasnt asking for my ssn, date of birth, bank account or credt card number i relaxed a little. After asking more questions about how much salary do i have to make to qualify for payment? What documentation is needed? How much do i need to pay before CSA payment posts? And was he going to check it on Monday? He answered that we where about to do everything over the phone even cash app. When he said cash app a strong red flag went up. I told him no deal and dont worry about it. I gave the phone back to the gentleman that came over with the phone and made the call to the scammer. I told him no good and thats ok cause hes not with CSA. The guy at my door advised me to check my bill and showed me a screenshot that had CSA for the methid of payment. I knew something was wrong because CDA diesnt pay your full bill unless its the amiunt that you qualify for. This guy paid $1393 my total bill and created the CSA payment as if my account showed that. After he said he paid it without my consent he asked if i could pay $395 to him in cash app. I said no and advised that i never asked you to pay it for me.He the started threatning me through text saying i had 10 minutes to pay or he would shoot up my house and hope no kids were there. I still didnt pay and called the police to do a report. They did an intimidation report for the threats but says since he ligged in as me under my account that he couldnt do a id theft report and contact mlgw. I also contacted first horizon the same day it happened and the police. When i contacted mlgw the rep only heard CSA and that my husband provided the info. Not that we didnt authorize a payment from a stolen or bogus checking account. I made another attempt to mlgw to try to get this payment canceled. My husband ended up paying cash because his bank blocked the multiple attempts to pay through cash app. He was intimidated and didnt want an attempt on our lives. Beware and make sure that you never give out any info no matter how minute you may feel it is.

I was contacted on facebook by I thought my cousin, asking for my phone number. I gave it over, but didn't get a call. They then started to tell me about CSA and how my cousin got $90,000 and I could too. I know my cousin doesn't have money like that, so I looked into it and realized it was a fake facebook. Talked to my cousin and she didn't know anything about the messages. They wanted me to text the number provided with my information to start the process but I wasn't about to do that.
