My husband and I purchased two Devon Rex kittens from “Jeff Leonard” at Curly Devon Rex. The purchase price was $1,680 with the seller agreeing to pay shipping. We signed a contract and paid through our Chase bank account using Zelle. The kittens were due to ship today. We received an email just prior to shipping from a website which is obviously also fraudulent. https://propetshipping.com contacted me using the email address [email protected] and called using the phone number 850-631-4928 to tell me we needed to pay $2,000 for a special COVID crate otherwise the kittens will be stranded. They said 97% of the $2,000 would be refunded at time of delivery. We saw it for the scam it was and refused to pay. “Jeff” said he’d refund our money. We do not believe him obviously and there is no financial recourse through Zelle.
