I got a text message from 984-333-2165 asking me a few questions about what job position I’d like. Then I was told to contact someone on google hangouts.

Alright... I will be needing you to have Mr Freeman, ([email protected])added up and messaged online via hangout to proceed further okay?

I answered a few questions and was told the next day I got the job and was asked did I have any of these items listed below.

I had already been looking up the job offer before I was told I was hired and these tips helped me to see it was a scam.

I had a similar experience with whoever is claiming to be Custom Pharma. I saw the check scam coming up before they mentioned it, right after there was a request to buy "softwares and hardwares." They said, in an email delivered in the middle of the night, that their hardware was going to be company-branded. That's why I was supposed to be spending money on the equipment.

It was a crazy mashup of Windows and Mac hardware and software:

Me: I own all of those products. As an independent contractor, I expense those out of my company's earnings.

All working materials come with the company's official logo branded on them. Okay?

Me: A direct deposit into my checking account is my preferred method of payment, due to security issues we're all experiencing. No cashier's check payments are processed at this time.

Check payment is the only Alternative at the moment.
If there another alternative I will keep you updated okay?

Me: Sure. You update me, and in the meantime I'll spread the word about the offer.

This was a very thorough interview and I banged out pretty good answers to questions about my 40 years of industry experience. Yes, it seemed too fortunate to be true. One clue is that the emails requesting the interview (on Google Hangouts) go to a Gmail account. This is not the way that a corportation extends job offers.

I finally, after about an hour of active engagement, told the "HR rep" that my business didn't process payments via cashier check. They said that was the only way they paid and that they'd get in touch if things changed on their end.

Me? I said I'd pass the word about their offer. No mention of where I'd pass it on. Beware.

I received an e-mail on 7/12/20 offering me a position as an interpreter for $80 /hr. I knew it was a scam from the get go. This time they even add a website link to their signature. I clicked on it and the website look too flashy..LOL!
Anyway, I replied asking them to find an honest job. That I work my butt off to just give them my money that easy..

I initially got an email offering employment. It was a lot of money for interpreters, so I wrote them back. They responded right away about on online interview (no video, just text). They had me answer questions and made it very official. They said I was hired and asked me to sign a letter of employment and send them a copy of passport, which I did. Then they sent a check for $4,250.00 and said I have to deposit it and send a screen shot of confirmation. Luckily, my bank has security features that don't allow for screen shots, so they didn't get my account number, though I did deposit the check and now am in the process of cancelling it with the bank. They said the funds would clear in the morning, so they (the supposed Mr. Franz Wilton) texted to ask how the deposit went and if the funds are available. I said no. He asked if I have available funds to use meanwhile, and that the check will be for later reimbursement. By then I had done my homework and knew this was a common scam, so I told him nope, that it's a fake check. When he realized I'm on to him, he called me an [censored] and stupid for being jobless, and that hopefully a car hits me on the way to the BBB. Then he deleted the entire conversation, which was through the app Telegram.
