I just got this today

Gotten a check in the mail my first thought is the check real, easy way to know is to look for the seal. And I googled to see if it was a scam and it is. So I took the fake check to the shredder and tossed it. Not taking a chance to deposit it.

Gift card scam

I originally signed up through indeed to become a secret shopper. Once I submitted my information I felt a little skeptical about how the website responded after I submitted my information. I completely forgot about the entire occurrence and when I came home today a United States Postal Service Priority Mail envelope was waiting for me.
The return address reads: McCann's Bookkeeping & Tax Service, 305 S Missouri Street, Liberty, MO 64068. In contrast, the company's name on the check is listed as Cal-Quake Construction, 636 North Formosa Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036 indicating that financial institution is JPMorgan Chase and the check is written out in the amount of $1,950.32. The instructions advises the following: to confirm that I received the package through/via SMS to this number (331) 725 - 0363 with: Your Full Name, Amount Received and estimation time to complete your Evaluation. Deposit the check with any options that your bank offer: ATM deposit or Bank deposit. Completing your assignment within 12 hours will earn you $250 bonus and within 24 hours will earn you a bonus of $150. You are to survey just 3 stores and to complete the $1,500 Vanilla Gift Card Purchase. I was excited for all of 5 minutes. Over 10 years ago, I had a friend who had been scammed out of her funds in her checking account with a similar scam in which the company stated they were giving her an expense account to utilize but she had to deposit the check into her account and once she did that they withdrew all of her funds in the account leaving her with zero. She had to report the incident to the police as well as the FBI. I need a part time job but I am so grateful that my spirit was very uneasy about the described transactions. won't allow us to just act without thought. I will also post pictures of the contents in the envelope. I plan on reporting this to the bank as well. I hope this was helpful to someone. There are so many more out there. Please be careful and stay alert and safe!

Check for $1950 out of the blue. Deposit within 12hrs bonus of$250. 24hrs bonus of$150.whoopee! Either way keep $400, buy $1500 in American express gift cards and follow a bunch of meaningless instructions as long as you send pictures of codes on cards to phone # provide. Really, who falls for this bologna with all the grammatical errors only a phuckin [censored] would make.

Here's the check.. for $1950.52 this check had about 3 destination! Before it got here. My alert went off in my head at the cards to be purchased and not the first I'm hearing that money can't be traced that way.. taking the picture then they get back their money I'm good with but to drain my account I'm not! Besides.. I don't have that kind of dough rolling in to get folks scraping what I got left! My son also said routing number can be obtained online so look out for that too.

So some weeks now I got a text from what sounds like a recruiter. Names can be picked anywhere right? Even on the CSET it has a name. Before I do these things I consult with my son. He figured it was a scam and told me if it could be proven otherwise he'd gladly go do it. But first googled it and sure enough scammer comes up. I'll be burning it up. Yup, set fire to it and hope others are not silly willy to bank it and draw it.

I received a priority mail package twice and opened it and it was a check of $1950 and was told to choose a store that sell American Express gift cards and cash the check into my bank and buy three gift cards totaling in $500 a piece which is $1500 and keep $400 plus $45 and was told to evaluate the store also take a pic of the front and back of card
