On 12/4/24 I received a phone call at 9:20 AM from a private number from a sub-contractor working for National Grid stating that I was still scheduled for termination today. I called the RI Energy Bill payments number I was given at 800-251-4497. I spoke to Peter Rodgers at extension #5512I. I was told all accounts require a security deposit since January 2024 for $495. I paid a total of $495 and an activation fee of $5.95 for an additional MoneyPak card purchased at CVS located at 601 Smithfield Avenue Pawtucket, RI 02861.

On 12-4-24 at 10:50 AM I received another phone call from a private number from a sub-contractor working for National Grid stating that I was still scheduled for termination. I called back Peter Rodgers at 800-251-4497 extension 5512 and was forwarded to David Lewinski, Executive Manager. He explained a complete security deposit of $950 was due and requested another $495 to remove the order for account suspension. He also stated I would be reimbursed for the entire security deposit of $985 by Friday of this week.
I immediately called the RI Energy office and was told my account is current and that I have been scammed.
