On May 1, 2023 "Steven Downey, Sales Manager" of Cynstar Logistics LLC ( https://cynstarlogistics.com/ ) was provided to me to be the intermediary, escrow and shipping company representing the seller ("David Noel" [email protected]) for an automobile I was purchasing. I was instructed to send payment, to be held in escrow to "Josef Klizan" (JPM Chase Account #925925726, 1512 Collier Dt, Charlotte, NC 28205). Against my better judgement, on May 3, 2023, I wired $21,200 via my federal credit union to "Josef Klizan". I received a call to notify me that shipping details would be provided upon receipt of funds. On May 5, 2023 I received a final call the funds were received and I was given vague shipping information. By this point, I found out I had been scammed. The automobile was not in possession of Cynstar Logistics, not owned by the seller, and the car is car for sale, but is in fact is owned by and on display at an automobile museum. I confronted Steven about this fact and I demanded my money returned in full. He hung up the phone on me. All communications ceased with Cynstar Logistics after this call. I have called numerous times and sent an email demanding a full refund. I have received no returned email from Cynstar Logistics and my phone number has also been blocked.
All banks involved have been notified of the fraudulent bank account, committed wire fraud and theft by deception.
A Bexar County Sherriff's Office report was filed (Report #: 2023-BCSO-009953) on May 9, 2023.
