We are retired and were thinking to resurface the 5000sf asphalt driveway. A surface contractor was casing our neighborhood and we agreed to pay $4500 cash. I did a quick study of what the cost should be, but apparently I got wrong information. We inspected before payment. There were some problem areas that looked bad upon completion. The man, JJ Jenkins, agreed to fix the problem areas. Still looked bad afterwards. He said the area would flatten out after it dried. Didn’t happen. With some online tutorials, found he did inadequate preparation for the asphalt emulsion seal coating. He also didn’t do the repair of low spots or where the new surface was clumping. Charged us more than double of what the cost should have been. He refused to give a business address. Said we’d have to pay if he was asked to return. Didn’t even want to give his last name. Can’t find the business name anywhere online.
