Type of a scam Online Purchase
So I sent an email off to see if they had any puppies, thinking that they were in a town close by. I get a response about 5 hours later, and then pictures even later that day. I fall in love with puppies I see in the pictures...and start talking to him about which one I would like, despite the fact that he is in Saskatchewan and I am in Ontario. He says shipping is easy, he will cover shipping, and that the "bill of sale" will be our contract. Several emails back and forth, and I feel that he is being real with me, so I send him my information and money for the puppy. He states he is making arrangements for the puppy to be shipped to me -- despite this being after 8pm in Ontario, and 7pm in Saskatchewan. A short time later he sends me an email from Petshomedelivery.com that tells me how to track the shipment of the puppy and the tracking number. The puppy was supposed to be picked up from Rodrigo in the morning, and I was to receive her on Sunday (despite it only being a 2.5 hour flight between us). The shipping company also attached a lengthy comment on the bottom of the shipping information -- poorly worded and phrased, claiming that before they even had the puppy, it was brought to them in a dilapidated crate, and that I should rent one of their special crates for $250 and that I need to have insurance on the puppy before it can be shipped for $1000 deposit. Both deposits are REFUNDABLE upon delivery. There are several emails back and forth about these deposits, and I did not have the money for, where was the puppy, and what are we going to do? I then start searching the shipping company -- the 'contact us' link goes to a blank page, phone number on the website is in Greenwood, IL, address is for the Eaton Centre in Toronto. I tried texting them, as I cannot make calls to the USA, I emailed them a couple of times and have not gotten any sort of response. I tried searching for the company on Google, BBB, etc and cannot find any information though their webpage says it is copyrighted, their links for Facebook, Google, and Twitter do not do anything, nor does their terms of service, or privacy policy.
I have emailed the seller several times yesterday and today and have told him that it is not a real company, asked about the welfare of the puppy, and asked for my money back. His only response about the welfare of the puppy is that 'they will take care of her'; and that 'I talked to them yesterday....I told you what you need to do".
SO folks and ads from [email protected] or [email protected] are scams. I am also planning on going on the eclassifieds4u site and reporting the ad as a scam on each and every city I can find, as I found the same ad and pictures listed in London, Kitchener, Toronto.....
