I hired Dan Hess Affordable Floors to refinish some hardwood floors in our home. After taking my down payment for deposit, he never returned calls or showed up to do the work when he said he would. He blew our family off time after time, after time. He finally sent one of his "guys" to start the job, after he said he himself would be there personally. The guy sanded our floor first before the patch repair work that was needed was done. This guy was supposed to return the next day, and he never did. So I called Dan and he gave me a sob story about how he hoped his guy was ok, and how worried he was. He then again told me hed be there personally the next day. Instead, some other dude showed up. The new guy was confused and didn't know why he'd been sent when the patch work Dan was supposed to do was not even done. Then Dan blamed our floors. He said they were a weird size (all things he should've known before based on my photos and measurements I gave him). he THEN said hed source the floor for us. Days went by and no word from Dan. Meanwhile, during all of this, mind you I paid him over 800 deposit money. After months of runaround with this job, I told him we were not going to contiue with him and we wanted a refund. He refused and got rather nasty with me. DO NOT USE THIS "BUSINESS" or give Dan any of your money. If you check Yelp, and look up reviews, you will see there are others with similar issues in the past. We hired a new company and the job was done in four days once we got on the waiting list and it was our turn.
