Please be wary of phishing. I included my résumé on two or three different job board websites: Indeed, CareerBuilder, and LinkedIn. I have been receiving obvious job scamming E-mails, until there was one that seemed legit at first glance. I was desperate to find a job to pay for college tuition and then I saw the pay rate. I didn’t realize the HR dept. E-mail addresses were too personal. He wanted to do the interview via Skype Instant Messaging. I did ask if I should call, but he insisted this was better to send the conversation to the company to see if I was a good fit. I searched up the company name and it did seem real. I went through with the interview process and the questions were really simple and personal. Only the last question was, somewhat, related to the job interview. He told me to answer it quickly, but I took some time and he sent question marks. He was asking me to purchase many materials for work and I would start my training after I obtain them. I asked if they will reimburse and he agreed to send me a check to my address. I had already given him my name, phone number, address, email, and my age. By this point, I said I would accept the offer. He said to deduct $150 as my sign-on bonus after I deposit the check. He did mention about an office being built close to my location and that I would be able to work there instead of at home. I asked him for the location of the office and he totally ignored that question. Also, he sent me forms to be filled out: Acceptance, W-4, and USCIS. Luckily, I did not fill those out. I hope this helps for anyone getting a job offer online that is too good to be true.
