This person sent me an e-mail through Indeed about a potential job and I sent valuable information to this person because I thought is was real but then I started to do research and have since found out to be a potential scam what do I need to do.

applied for a job as an IRS CSR. Got email that I was shortlisted for hire and was sent an application asking for my personal info.

They then tried to log into my Id.me account to hack my IRS account.

I applied for a remote Customer Service position on Indeed a month or so ago. I was contacted by email from someone providing the name Danielle Bethune-Bergeron, thanking me for applying, then asked if I was still interested and if I was to respond back. When I responded, I requested for a phone call to be completed on the following day and I provided the times that I would be available to do so. They emailed me back and stated that they would like to offer me the position and requested for me to fill out a form and send a copy of my ID. The email stated that once I provided that form and my ID they would schedule a Zoom meeting and begin my background check. I never sent anything and immediately started searching online for info. Google brought me to this page and I read the previous persons encounter with them. NO LEGIT COMPANY THAT'S OFFERING EMPLOYMENT WOULD IMMEDIATELY ASK FOR IDENTIFICATION TO BE SENT OVER BY EMAIL.. EVER.
