On 07/10/2020, I agreed to buy a corgi puppy from a breeder named Omari McLeod from Orlando, Florida. The cost of the dog was $600, with an additional $150 for shipping and delivery fees. The puppy was supposed to be delivered to my home in New York by an attendant from JFK. The puppy was supposed to arrive on the morning of 07/16/2020. That morning I received an email from the seller's shipping company that the crate she was travelling in did not meet current FAA requirements for live animals and that I would need to pay $1,400 for a new crate, but that money would be refunded to me at the time of delivery. I paid the money via Zelle as directed.After sending that payment, I got another email after pressing for details on her flight arrangements and arrival, stating that she did not have life insurance and that I needed to pay another $1,800 for life insurance and $2800 for USDA APHIS certificates, which would also be refunded upon delivery. After again sending the payment and pressing for more information, I received another email on the morning of 07/16/2020 stating that unless I paid a fee of $2090, my puppy would not be allowed in the State of New York and would be forced to quarantine for upwards 45 days. I refused to pay the additional $2090 and confronted them about the scam. I was threatened to watch my words because they might get me in trouble and that they had lawyers who could sue me and cause me to lose a lot more money than I have spent on the dog. Their phone number is listed in Orlando, Florida, and there is no physical address provided. The breeders name is Omari McLeod and he runs the website: https://dannypembrokewelshcorgi.com. My Desired Settlement: Refund Desired. Outcome Description: I paid for a puppy that may or may not exist and was not delivered.That is Breach of Contract and I want to be refunded the $750 I paid to Omari McLeod. Additionally, I want to be refunded the $6,090 that I paid Ashley Rippy, Jesse and Rashel Nathan supposedly of Sky Pet Movers. I want to be refunded the total $6,090 I am owed and prevent this from happening to more people.These people are despicable and are preying on people; I also want them to be prosecuted for their crimes, both state & federal.
