Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
He claimed that he wanted to buy them so he sent me a check worth 2250 (600 for furniture, 1600 for moving, 50 for holding the furniture).
He said that in order to arrange the furniture pick up, I will need to send 1600 to a third party moving company ([email protected], account holder: Jelil). I went to the bank to deposit the check and my bank said it's going to be cleared on the 24th of April, so I went ahead to send the 1600 using chase quick pay.
The second day, the person contacted me saying that they are not buying the furniture anymore because their step daughter needs surgery so he requested me to send the 600 back, and that's when I realized it might be a scam.
The next morning, I called the bank listed on the check, and they told me it was a fake check, so the check will be returned soon. (I've attached the check image)
