Data Entry Job Reports & Reviews (3)

it appeared to be a legitimate online data entry / marketing job. Simple to do, but lots of hoops to jump through to get started. As i worked, I paid a deposit to get access to my daily tasks. once i accomplished 3 tasks, i was finished and would withdraw my earnings. My earnings consisted of the deposit I initially paid, my salary (which increased every day), and my profits (0.5% of the worth of each product I submitted during my tasks). I took in very good profits each day until i was hit with a "combination". this was a bundle of products requiring more money to be deposited to my account. in one day i had 3 combinations, wiping out my checking and savings accounts. The 3rd combination required so much money, I would have had to borrow from family or friends. I knew by then, the whole thing was a gamble and as I was unable to pay, I lost everything.

In hindsight - the job felt quite a bit like gambling. there were no contracts or tax documents to sign. it was way too easy. the money was too good to be true. and lastly - i never spoke in person to a human being - everything was through text or an app called telegram.

Received text from someone calling themselves mark richards. I asked for company website to confirm. He texts back

"Your resume has been reviewed by the Human Resources of the company for an Data Entry/Administrative Assistant Job position with a pay of $45 per hour.

You have been shortlisted for a Job briefing and an online job Interview with our company. (You'll undergo 1 week training ) I would like to know if you are still interested in the job position?"

I received a text message from someone named Marika, claiming my resume had been selected for a Data Entry Specialist position with Prime Therapeutics. She sent me an email to contact on Microsoft Teams as well as an interview code. When I spoke to the person I had been told to contact on teams, I was given an interview over text form. He sent me fifteen pretty standard questions in three sets of five. After the interview had concluded, he told me to wait while he contacted the company head to see if I was a good fit for the position. After a while, he messaged me back and let me know I had gotten the job. He sent me a list of required equipment and said that the company would provide them for me. He then emailed me what seemed to be a xeroxed check from a plumbing company with my name superimposed on it. When I asked what this was, and if it was supposed to be from a random company and not the one I applied for, he gave me a very vague reply and didn't really answer my question. I was very suspicious at this point so I looked up the phone number I had originally been contacted from, saw that It was a scam, and proceeded to block him.
