Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
If this is a legitimate business I apologize, however, it just did not seem right to me.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
At our company, department heads are required to sign off on the validity of each invoice received. This one was routed around to 3-4 department heads and finally came back to me...everyone said it wasn't theirs. On closer inspection, it had nothing to do with our Datamax printers. It was for a model of printers that we don't even use. Additionally, the item they were trying to bill us for is 3x what I could have purchased it for at Amazon. Below is the e-mail I sent to them, as well as their response.

We received Invoice #25757 from you, dated 05/03/2016. I believe this to be a scam and have directed our Accounting Department not to pay this invoice, for the following reasons:
1. We have no HP Laserjet 4250 printers at this company, to my knowledge.
2. If we did have an HP LaserJet 4250 on-site, I certainly wouldn’t pay $568.00 apiece for a toner cartridge that would only cost us $42.00 - $187.00 on Amazon.
3. We have never done business with you in the past and quite honestly, it makes no sense to order toner at those prices from someone we don’t know, two states away.
4. We currently have a contract with a local company that takes care of all our toner and supply needs at wholesale pricing. We don’t go outside of that contract to get supplies…period.
5. We don’t pay any invoices without proof of delivery. That proof of delivery can be a receipt from UPS/USPS/FedEx or a bill of lading that came on/inside the box. Alternatively, we route the bills to the different department heads for approval, if no one knows who or what it’s for. No one has ever heard of you, nor do they know of any supplies that would have been ordered.
6. I am the IT Manager here and have been responsible for all printer needs for the last 4 months and can say without a doubt, that I didn’t order this toner.
7. There is no Datamax Supply company at the address listed for your business. It is a company called “P.O. Box Rentals.”
If by some chance, you can produce some proof of delivery of the item listed on the invoice, then we will reopen this invoice and proceed from there.
Their reply:
Hello, OUR MISTAKE.... I checked in the computer and found the invoice was cancelled and not shipped. Please disregard it, as it was sent in error.
Sorry for the inconvenience, Kelly Edwards
