Initially contacted via text on 05/16/22 by a David Thomason representing himself as: Walmart Human Resources Global Operation hiring secret shopper evaluators offering $400.00 to $500.00 per assignment. I submitted a text app on the same day and received a response regarding my 1st assignment from a different cell number on May 27th indicating that I would receive details of my first assignment via USPS. I received the priority mail package on June 2nd. The return address was an electrical business in Toms River, NJ zip 08753 and a check made out to me in the amount of $1,952.00. The check was supposedly from a home services business located in Van Nuys, CA zip 91401. The enclosed instructions were to deduct my commission of $452.00 and used the balance of $1,500.00 to purchase gift cards. Instructions were to open gift card pack(s) and gently pull the silver scratch off area on the card(s). After, taking picture of gift card(s) they were to be emailed to their designated address. The curious and disparate information included in this whole affair sent off a number of alarms.
