I was recruited by people purporting to be from Davidson Consulting for a copywriter position.

At a point, I was emailed a check from Target Corporation C/O CyberGrants LLC that I was supposed to deposit in my account and then purchase equipment from a supplier to be specified later.

I do not believe that this is how international companies do business when onboarding a new employee.

I believe some sort of fraud is being attempted.
