Sgt Juan Ortiz called (not stating his agency) stating that he had legal matters he needed to discuss with me. Caller ID spoofed the Davidson County Sheriff's office which is on the other side of the state from me. He gave a different phone number to call (605) 453-3238. I had just had this same type of scam call last week and tried calling the number back using "*67" for anonymous calling and my google voice number. He wouldn't answer to either one. I used my real cell phone number and he answered. I wanted to waste his time and wanted to see if he paid attention to the details. He answered Sgt Juan Ortiz and I stated "hi Sgt. Juan Valdez, this is Chris Rock returning your call". He asked for my name again and I stated that I didn't know the agency he was calling from. The call ended and he hasn't answered any calls to that number. I didn't get far enough into the conversation to have the fraudulent scenario given or the request for money, but it started just like to one from the prior week.
