Type of a scam Yellow Pages/Directories
$371.94. We did install a phone line in May . A few weeks afterwards received a form from the
yellow pages verifying our address. Our address was incorrect, we corrected and sent back to them.
Apparently that was a contract to list our business online with this "National yellow pages online".
On 9-15-15 , we receive a call from Brian Borden from Davis and Jones stating we owe $371.94.
but if we pay today he would reduce to $ $256.95. We asked him to send the invoice to me and he said he
would email to me (never received) also asked him for contact at yellow pages and he gave me a number,
but indicated that they would probably tell me it was in collections and would have me call back Davis and Jones.
I called yellow pages and spoke with Melvin. Melvin did indicate that we owed $371.94 but he would take $229
and that everything would be cancelled and our company cleared of debt. I called Brian back and told him what
Melvin had said and Brian said that Melvin is a liar and that he would not close account . Brian stated that since he was in collection he only had the authority to do that. I told him we could pay $99 so Brian said he would have to check with his manager (3 min pause on phone) Now he comes back with $154 to make it all go away. Yet they won't send an
invoice by mail or email. Brian has called again 9/17/15 and again 9/18/15. It seems that Davis and Jones and
yellow pages online are scammers together and will gladly and quickly take credit card or checking account
info over the phone, but not provide any documentation as to an invoice .
