My daughter googled electric scooters for a Christmas gift. One of the sponsored ads had a Segway from Best Buy for $61.99. I clicked on it even though I just told her to skip the ad results at top of the page. The page looked very similar to Best Buy and it was a “lightning deal” that was ending in 4 minutes.

The website seemed a little off but I chalked it up to the fact I was watching it on my daughter’s Chromebook and it wasn’t rendering correctly. It was Best Buy’s name, branding and everything. I went ahead and purchased it, paying through PayPal. As soon as I authorized payment, I got email invoices from three different individuals.

I got an email from “Dealsfriday” ([email protected]) saying they’d received the order and promised shipping in 3-5 days. An email reply I sent bounced back as undeliverable.
