I received 5 text messages from this number on 10/14/2024 at 7:23 a.m. PT claiming to be from CA FasTrak stating that I had an outstanding toll balance of $3.67 and that to "steer clear" of a late fee of $49.67, I should

"kindly settle" my balance at CAtollinvoice.com. I was immediately suspicious because I have not used the toll roads and the language used in the texts did not seem like what an official agency would use. I did not respond to the message or click the link.

I received the following text:

"Your vehicle has been recorded using the FasTrak Express Lane. To avoid a bill with excessive late fees of 46.70$, kindly settle your balance of 4.67$ at https://.bayareafastrakservices.com"

I noticed that the sender was not familiar with US money and where our $ is located, so I figured it was a scam. I then googled the area code and saw it was for Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, then googled the phone number and came upon this site. I will report the text to my phone maker, and carrier as well as block the number from my phone and delete the text.

I received a text that stated "Sunpass: Our records indicate that you have an unpaid toll trip. Please make an online payment at https://invoicesunpasstools.com to avoid excessive late fees." SunPass is an electronic toll collection system within the state of Florida, but I live in Arizona and have never been to Florida before in my life. Upon visiting the website provided in the text message, I am prompted to enter my phone number and Social Security number.

My wife received a text message from Sunpass stating that you have an unpaid toll trip and to make a payment online at https://invoicesunpasstolls.com I noticed these people are targeting government employees and businesses my wife works for the government

Received text that we had an unpaid toll. We were expecting this as we just traveled Texas and was in a toll road. Provided info requested including ss#, credit card #, date of birth, full name. Afterward it dawned on me it was a scam. Froze all 3 credit reports and locked the credit card used to pay.
