On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, a young man named Gavin called and said that he was from Consumer Collections Company. He said they have been trying to contact me since September 16, 2022 to collect a debt that I owed in the amount of $572.10. He said that they have been sending bills and emailing me urgent messages before deciding to turn me over to legal authorities. He was glad that I answered the call and was very happy to be able to offer me a settlement. If I agreed to pay $350 dollars the debt would be satisfied and my credit score would not be affected. I began asking him questions and his answers were quite believable. He said that Alliance Diagnostics was the name of the creditor but he didn’t know the name of the lab. He said that I went to to get a routine blood draw for something called Alcoline Phosast and the lab was out of network, which is why I had this bill. He gave me the address that he was sending the bills to and I told him that I did not live there any more. Then he gave me my current address. I know that I did not get these bills he is talking about but I do remember getting emails about this debt, which I promptly discarded and blocked. The conversation started to get ugly when I told him I didn’t believe a word of what he is telling me and I am not paying him a thing. Then I hung up.
