I had seen the ad multiple times on Facebook and my fiancé really wanted one. I looked at reviews and checked out the website and thought about it for a couple days. When he mentioned how much he loved it again I decided to order it for him and one for my brother-in-law for Christmas. The next time I saw the ad I bought them. I immediately had an issue as they added a large sales tax that I did not approve. I used the email provided on the website and they promptly returned that money to my card. Then the shipping notice came through that it was shipping from Denmark. I thought it was a US company when I looked but wasn't too worried because of the customer service I received.
When the flags finally arrived, they were images of the flag on a flat thin piece of particle board. I complained to the original email and was offered, I think, $8.00. I emailed through PayPal as well and was offered $10 and told returning them to China (not Denmark) was cost prohibitive but I could if I wanted a full refund. At my cost. I then escalated a dispute through PayPal. PayPal agreed that I would have to return them at my expense to get the refund even though they were not what I ordered. At this point I told my fiancé about the situation, and we realized there were 2 companies with the same ad. One apparently American and the one I researched. I could not get PayPal to look again so I filed with discover and they came to the same conclusion. I am still fighting.
Returning the item would cost approximately 1/2 of what I'm asking in a refund. It is unreasonable to expect me to return an item that I did not order at my cost.
