I have received two calls automated in the past 24 hours claiming to be either Tech Support with Dell Computers or Microsoft say that they have been ordered to shut down and that they owe me a refund. I hung up both times but after the second time, I call the number back, and the india accent just said hello... I asked who it was and I got the same bs, but from a real person. I told him he could send me a letter with all the information in it. So he asked for my address. I said well, you have my phone number and you say I bought a computer that I purchased from you, so you have my address and you can just send the refund with the letter of explanation. He then tried to say he needed me to verify the information, and I told him I dont give out that information by phone. Again, I asked him to send the refund and letter concerning everything to my address on file. The two numbers these calls came in on are 888-843-3604 and 888-746-8119. I understand they can change their numbers often. On my phone it will show up as a toll free number, but if I hit it to redial, the number shows up. The first give away is they didnt know my name. Be careful folks. We're in Texas but who knows where these calls are originating from. I thought there would be a place to file a complaint to someone who could track these people down, but police told me to call the phone company and the phone company just told me to block them, and call Dell or Microsoft. So blocking them is probably the best thing to do, just dont give them any information at all.
