My mother was dying on the day of our international flight. My family and I attempted to contact Delta to notify of cancellation, and a phone number was found on a google search that was supposedly Delta. We notified the woman that we were cancelling our flights due to this reason. She informed us that we were going to be charged due to cancelling the flight within 24 hours. I was charged $350 for each flight, there were two. I later reviewed my Delta account, and the ecredit was there. Come to find out the scammer called Delta on my behalf to cancel the flights, so that is how the ecredit was there, making me believe that it was real. Delta was very aware of this scam and let me know that it has been going on since 2020. I contacted my credit care company Chase and filed a dispute. Fortunately Chase refunded the $700.
