I received a text message around 7am it was a “company” who had seen my resume on zip recruiter and offered me an online interview. In order to start the interview I had to download the app telegram and add Joseph Griffin the supervisor conducting the interview afternoon about an hour of questions and information about the company he notified me that his hiring managers were impressed and that the job was basically mine. It was a new upcoming solar company named Demand Solar from Florida who wanted to expand there business to California. I didn’t think much of I gave them my full name address and phone number and proceeded with the hiring process he informed me that they would send me a check in the mail and that once I’d received it I would deposit it into my account and by the supplies I needed to start working online until the store was officially opened. We ended the conversation and was informed that all of my employment forms, handbook etc.. would be emailed to me the next day (today) to be exact. I was stoked. However after thinking about it, it seemed to good to be true I went on there website called the number that was provided on demandsolar.com and to my surprise it was not in service. I later went to there Facebook paged and called the number they had there this number did work however it was for a law firm in Florida. I grew worried so I searched the company everywhere and the more I searched the more my suspicion grew of it being a scam. The have yelp, instagram, Facebook pages but there were only two reviews on each page which were oddly similar. I tried looking from job postings from that company and there was nothing luckily I didn’t proceed with filling out the paper work I really dodged a bullet and hopefully this helps and awares people of employment scams .
