I received a call recently where I was told that I had won 850,000 from the U.S. Gaming Board. The caller said my Certified Cashier's check was still on their desk and they had been trying to contact me to deliver the money and all they needed was for me to confirm my address which they already had.

I immediately thought it was a scam and asked him for information so that I could verify that this was not a scam. He gave me the name of Brian Sandoval and said that he was Governor and that I could contact him at 916-407-4057 and confirm that the check had the Government Approval Stamp. He said the check number was 56721143. He stated all takes have already been paid to US Treasury and the original prize money was 1.2 mil.

Sounds like a scam to me. Do you have any knowledge of this type of scam?
