There are people posting houses for rent on the Apartment List App. It is a Scam. I left a msg through the app about my interest in a particular home. I was contacted by an individual claiming to be the owner of the home. He was very polite and professional. He asked for an email to send an application and asked for a deposit. The name on the cash app did not match his name. I did a social media search on the cash app name and it was a totally different person than who he chained to be. I was very suspicious so I asked for identification and proof of ownership of the property. He then told me not to worry about the fee and just send a deposit and he would get me the keys to the property. He eventually sent me a picture of a paper ID The more questions I asked the more distant he became until he just stopped responding. The process was real and for a moment I really thought I was about to get a new home. Please don’t get scammed by this person. Name :Dennis Lee Brown. The cash app acct : *** ******  I did find a *** ****** on social media. I reached out to inform them that their name was associated with a scam. I got no response from FB or IG. I’m assuming they are in on it as well.
