Contact with scammer made through Automotive Services on Charlotte Craigslist. Said His name was Chris and owned Dent Masters ...He came to my house Saturday Dec 22 to do body work on my car. He told me on the phone that he had 20 years of experience in auto body and then told me he was 27 years old... We agreed on a price of $600 which included clearing the headlights , popping out a small dent on the passenger door and painting the trunk lid ... He arrived on Saturday , did some work on the vehicle and then covered the dent He was supposed to fix with wax while covering the freshly painted trunk with a water and wax solution .. He told me to wait and remove the wax in a few days ... When I removed the wax from the door and the wax/water finally dried on the trunk , It was a mess ... The paint job had crinkles & ripples in it , and the dent in the door remained but now had dings all around it where He tried unsuccessfully to pop it out ... He even banged a hole in the side of my passenger door, which never should have been done... I have before and after pictures of everything .. I texted Him on Monday the 24th of December to let him know that the work was unsatisfactory and He texted back that he would be back at my house on Wednesday , Dec 26 to make the work He did right .. That would have been great , but He did not show up or call... He texted me 4 days later .. I have all the text messages that we exchanged from the very beginning ... I normally am a very suspicious person and pride myself on not being taken but this guy who calls Himself Chris is a very good scammer and put me at ease in his work and guarantees to come back and fix his work if I was unhappy with it ... He did not make good on any of His promises and I am out $600 cash !!
